Voting in the November 8, 2022 General Election

Voting is easier and more secure than ever! To find out more about voting, please visit the Bernalillo County Clerk’s website here. 

Register to Vote
After October 11 in order to vote in the General Election, you must register in person with the proper identification. Same Day Registration is available here:

• October 11 – October 21, 2022 –at the Clerk’s Annex (Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM).
• October 22 – November 5, 2022 – at Early Voting locations (most locations open Monday – Saturday 10AM to 7PM)
• November 8, 2022 – at Election Day voting locations (7AM-7PM)

Please bring a photo ID and a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, student identification card or other government document, including identification issued by an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo that shows your name and current address.

Absentee Voting

Absentee ballots began to be mailed out on October 11.  Beginning November 3, the county clerk recommends voters take their absentee ballots in person to drop off, rather than rely on the mail.  It is quick and easy to take your absentee ballot and return it directly to a clerk’s office, polling location, or secured drop box.

All absentee ballots may be returned to the County Clerk’s Office or any polling location no later than 7PM on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Early Voting Locations

Twenty (20) Early Voting Convenience Centers (EVCCs) plus the Mobile Voting Unit will be open for the 2022 General Election – October 22, 2022, to November 5, 2022. Most locations open Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Same Day Registration will be available during Early Voting and Election Day.

Voters may vote in-person through absentee or hand-deliver a completed absentee ballot at the Clerks Annex starting October 11, 2022 and at any of the early voting locations starting October 22, 2022.
