Education

Progress in schools

Pamelya Herndon's mother was an elementary school teacher. She has always supported educators. That is why she voted for $50,000 minimum pay for New Mexico teachers — a 20% average pay raise. This brings New Mexico in line with the national average and ahead of surrounding states.

Along with competitive compensation, Pamelya voted to increase teacher retention and training, strengthen teacher recruitment from our communities, and provide services

that students need.

One such service aimed at students is the effort she is leading to open mental health and wellness centers in New Mexico schools to help young people deal with anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Paid for and authorized by Herndon For NM, Bronwen Murray, Treasurer.
