Dear Friend,
Greetings from the 2025 Legislative Session! It was an honor to serve my fourth year in the legislature and to continue representing House District 28 at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe.
As we conduct the people’s work this legislative session, we are taking your concerns to heart – from safeguarding health care for your family, to keeping our communities safe, to protecting immigrant rights. I was proud to sponsor and support legislation that reflects our shared priorities, including:
MEDICAID TRUST FUND & STATE SUPPORTED FUND – This bill is a long-term investment in healthcare that establishes a state-supported trust allowing the Legislature to appropriate matching dollars if federal funding is reduced.
OMNIBUS PUBLIC SAFETY PACKAGE – This collection of six bills is aimed at bolstering public safety. A major way it accomplishes this is by reforming criminal competency laws. Courts now have more options when handling suspects deemed incompetent to stand trial, preventing automatic release onto the streets.
SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION NONDISCLOSURE – I sponsored this law that prohibits the Motor Vehicle Division from disclosing sensitive personal information, thus ensuring privacy and protecting immigrants.
I also want to invite you to join me for an Open House at our new District Headquarters! This will be a great opportunity to connect, share your thoughts, and learn more about the work ahead.
